Porte Ponderings:

DAILY TAROT: Page of Cups
I am an intuitive, creative being.

This card has appeared recently and obviously needs to be repeated.
Look at the ways you can be creative, trust your intuition.

The anhinga in today’s picture was drying it’s wings in the sunshine. I loved the way the sunshine outlined and highlighted the anhinga’s wings. The wings appeared almost translucent with the individual wing feathers having additional definition from the glow of the sun.

Daily Tarot: PAGE OF WANDS
I am planting new seeds and I am
willing to learn how to grow them.

What will 2024 bring?
  Flowers.
How do you know that?
  I’m planting flowers. 😉

Morning glory seeds to be specific and they are already starting to grow. I put them in a cinder block to keep the lawn maintenance guys from cutting the flowers down when the trimmers are being used.

A good neighbor is a fellow
who smiles at you over the back fence,
but doesn’t climb over it.

Porte Ponderings:

Daily Tarot:
  ACE OF PENTACLES –
I am open to receive everything the Universe has to offer me.

Ace of Pentacles Reversed:
Gather more information first. If you’re thinking of making an investment, the Ace of Pentacles reversed could advise to hold off – the investment may not yield fruit in the long term. In some cases, this card may advise to reject materialism or to take a job that isn’t totally what you want.

Porte Ponderings:

2024 literally started with a bang.

I arrived in Florida for the New Year’s Eve fireworks. This was the worst year yet for noise. On Penny Lane the residents had a huge display. Debris fell on trailer roof tops in Sleep Hollow. The Police were called, but didn’t respond. Then a box of their fireworks caught on fire. Police, fire and ambulance anxious to help broke down the locked gate at Sleep Hollow Park 2 before realizing the emergency was next door. They watched the flames for 45 minutes, took one person by ambulance to hospital, then finally doused the flames. I pray the person is OK. I hate New Year’s Eve in Zephyrhills.

But I love taking pictures of the birds at Zephyr Park. 10 pictures that I posted on iNaturalist were added to the Florida Birds Album. Not bad for my first day out.

I’ve started doing a Daily Tarot Reading for myself. Today was the Eight of Cups. ”I am ready to leave behind anything that hinders my spiritual growth” Unfortunately my Busch Gardens friend isn’t buying a pass this year, so I now need to decide if I should go alone, find a new companion or just skip this year. The Real Music Series starts next Tuesday, so I still have some time to decide.

Words make you think a thought.
Music makes you feel a feeling.

Porte Ponderings:

It was wonderful to have a birthday on Good Friday.

My grandchildren and sons were able to fly kites in the afternoon. Although it was much colder than we thought we loaded everyone up and went to the High School. The football field there was excellent for kite flying. A red shouldered hawk even decided to join the kites. We should make this an annual tradition. ❤

All of my family were able to get together for turkey supper.

Thank you for all of the wonderful birthday wishes.

If everyone does some good,
think of what a good world this will be.

Porte Ponderings:

Time to celebrate another trip around the sun.

66 is a blessing I thought I’d never see.

So, I’ll count my blessings with my family and friends to begin.
They have supported me through thick and thin.
And challenged me to be the best I can.

My mother died at 43, so I consider every day another blessing. Thanks to modern medicine and cholesterol reducing medications.

My father died at 63 of small cell cancer. I quit smoking at 40. Although he was a smoker, his cancer was probably from his work environment. He worked in high risk environments to ensure his family was provided for.

I was lucky enough to work at Canada Post and thank them every month when I receive my Pension cheque, for allowing me to retire at 55. I had the privilege of working with amazing people.

The most wasted day of all
is that on which we have not laughed.

Porte Ponderings:

Some days there seems to be not enough time to do everything.

I’ve been busy getting the “got tos” done.

I couldn’t keep Patsie, so we found a new home for her and she is doing well. Living in the lap of luxury with lots of love and care.

I finally got to plant my tomato seeds in the greenhouse. The greenhouse has some minor damage from hail storms (small holes), but still keeps the temperature warmer than outside. The seed starting pads work. Now just to wait for the seeds to germinate and grow.

Today I have cupcakes to bake, shopping to do, cleaning to do and getting ready for the family Good Friday supper tomorrow.

I still need to go for a walk and take pictures of the flooding of the muddy Sydenham. Hopefully the river doesn’t go over the road.

Now to fit in some exercises.
