Just like birds are born to fly, people are born to follow their own paths. Joan of Arc was burned at the stake for following hers’, but she wouldn’t deny her faith.
Today is my step-son’s birthday. As he edges closer to 50, it makes me feel older as well. Always full of energy, able to make us smile, almost on command, he is enjoying driving truck and living in West Lorne. Although I think he will never be completely satisfied and will always looking for that one thing better. Always striving for that extra bit. A quality driving him forward.

Happy Purple Day, or also known as International Epilepsy Day. One of the oldest afflictions known to man where people loose themselves into a seizure either large or just an absent seizure for a moment. Those moments can be disastrous and extremely horrifying for the person and those who love them. Medicines can help in most cases, but the side effects can be equally difficult. Living independently is a dream for most of the afflicted. Just driving a car is outside their reach. Wait times for testing in Canada can be up to a year or more for children. We’ve already lived through the testing and had confirmation with my oldest grandson. You’d think testing for progress would be shorter, but it seems to be just as long or longer due to COVID backlogs. Please give generously to find a cure.
It seems strange to celebrate Earth Hour, while bombs are disseminating the Ukraine and the threat of nuclear or chemical war has never seemed more imminent. But continue to due your part and turn your lights out for 1 hour tonight.
Be certain to eat your spinach today as we celebrate National Spinach Day. After all if it made Popeye stronger, it can make us all stronger.

Christians around the world enter into the Season of Lent on Ash Wednesday. This is the beginning of the count down to Easter. The feasting and parades are now over for 42 days in preparation of the holiest of days, Easter Sunday. I challenge you not to give up things, but to do at least 1 act of kindness each day as we prepare for the Easter Celebration.
If you don’t have a cat, and live where cats are allowed, please consider saving a cat from a shelter today as we remember International Rescue Cat Day. You may not change the world, but you would change the life of one cat.
On the school day closest to March 2nd we remember Dr. Seuss Day and celebrate Read Across America Day. Born as Theodor Seuss Geisel, his stories with fantastical creatures have embedded themselves into our American culture. Not without controversy (some books were removed from schools and the public) the words of wisdom touch the lives of all of us. From The Cat in the Hat, to The Grinch we love them all.
Today’s food is Banana Cream Pie. So celebrate National Banana Cream Pie Day with a slice or two. 😉

Today we give a special tribute to all of the Caregivers as we celebrate National Caregiver’s Day.
Since February is Heart Month, today is set aside as National Woman’s Heart Day. The symptoms of a woman’s heart attack may be different from a man’s so be certain to familiarize yourself and seek medical assitance immediately.
