Rarely is there such a perfect day as this one at Lake Erie. The lake was almost motionless, flat and quiet in a heat wave. Other local beaches had been posted as “No swimming” due to high e-coli, but Port Glasgow beach was still open. Early morning walks were the best time to avoid the heat. Rickie and I enjoyed our morning walk to the marina.

Porte Ponderings:

They say the heat wave is over, but the humidity and heat are continuing. There are threats of thunderstorms today, but I hope they stay away long enough for my Grandsons’ birthday party this afternoon.

My water hose got another hole so, I’m going to try a metal water hose from Amazon. $50 for 100 feet including a nozzle. It’s not supposed to kink or get holes. We’ll see. Even when it came it had a warning about extreme temperatures.

The first day of summer this year is ushered in with a full moon and a heat wave that has already lasted 5 days. At least the temperature was cool enough at the lake to permit the windows to be open last night.

I thought the cannons had stopped firing, but I was wrong. We just couldn’t hear them because of the air conditioning.
