Porte Ponderings:

The last days of summer. My favorite time to be at the trailer. The temperatures are wonderful. The days are getting shorter. Everyone has returned to work or school and the trailer park has only the seasonal residents remaining.

Birds and butterflies have started their migrations. The orioles have been gone for almost a month. Turkey vultures are soaring on the currents above the beach. Hummingbirds now seen are just passing through. The harvest moon is shining bright only to be disturbed by a lunar eclipse. Northern lights have been shining in the wee hours.

I’ve been practising my flute for my nephew’s wedding on Saturday. I’m looking forward to the party. 😉

I have an entire built in bookcase filled with books written by Nora Roberts. My husband’s favorite author. Some of the books are soft cover some are hard. Even a couple are signed first editions. Her writings of Ireland led us on a once in a lifetime trip 10 years ago to visit the magical places and castles.

Yes, take opportunities as they come.

But you can’t take every opportunity.

As summer is coming to a close it seems like everyone is scheduling events for you to attend. This last long weekend of the summer is a prime example. At Port Glasgow Trailer Park there are events scheduled all weekend with a silent auction and craft show scheduled for Saturday.

Next weekend is a baby shower for my grand nephew in Mount Brydges.

Then all the September birthdays. It’s as if my family tried to get a birthday for everyday of the month.

Not to mention all the Doctor appointments scheduled for September.

So choose which opportunities are the most important and be certain to schedule some down time to appreciate September walks and contemplations. Or try some of those painting tutorials you’ve been wanting to do like the Grey Wolf tutorial https://app.jesserobertson.com/#/watchfree/grey_wolf
