Porte Photos’ Daily Quote: October 12, 2022

People often say that motivation doesn’t last.
Well, neither does bathing
– that’s why we recommend it daily.

Porte Musings:

It’s getting harder to get up in the mornings as the night is staying longer. The later sunrises are a challenge for my exercise routines.

But the fall colours are just starting to peak in the area and the reds are showing their best.

The temperatures have been hovering around 20C and it’s been amazing to kayak this late in October. The weatherman says it’s coming to an end as a cold front is due to go through tonight with winds of up to 90 KM per hour. Here’s hoping some of the leaves hang on a while longer.

I intend to live forever,
or die trying.

Porte Musings:

Groucho Marx, a comedian who was known to play a curmudgeon old man with a unique outlook on the world. But I agree with this philosophy. I’ve already told my grandchildren I’m living to be 120. Now that I’ve lived longer than both of my parents it seems like I could make it come true.

Luckily group activities have resumed. 3 weeks of Zumba on Fridays and 5 more to go. Put a smile on your face, do what you can and most importantly have fun.

Daily walks with my sister at least 3-4 times a week.

Kayaking at least 1 a week.

Motorcycling with CMC 021 now also added to my list of things to do.

Church on Sundays, with Junior Church (or Sunday School) starting again today.

Yes, I might just live to be 120 or die trying. ❤

It’s okay to take time for yourself.
We give so much of ourselves to others and
we need to be fueled both physically and mentally.
If we are in balance, it helps us in all our interactions.

Porte Musings:

This week is a big week for the Strathroy-Caradoc Horticultural Society. We have a meeting tonight and a 150th Anniversary Brunch this Saturday. I’ve volunteered to provide a photo booth for the Brunch. My favorite background is a garden with a gate. I’ll e-mail everyone a copy of their picture and provide a 4×6″ picture at the next meeting. I’ve designed and printed out a permission/contact sheet and am still thinking of ways to keep 80 participants in order and send the right one to the right e-mail. I’m thinking a white board to take placemark photos.

Looking on the web for solutions they recommended immediacy rather than sending to individual e-mails but, sending by e-mail will ensure they have my e-mail/contact information for future bookings. Yes, I’m shamelessly advertising and providing a free service for one of my favorite charities.
