Porte Musings:

I’ve had to reduce the amount of time spent watching the news. One image of the “War” in the Ukraine continues to haunt me. A little boy in a brown snow suit, alone but in a crowd, crying and running from the bombing. The little boy, an innocent, reminding me of my grandsons. Obviously well cared for and loved, suddenly his whole world literally being shot to hell and spiraling out of control. These atrocities affecting 40 Million people, a number I’m having a hard time comprehending. What does bombing these people accomplish? They aren’t decision makers. They are just people, who until the bombing started were living there peaceful lives with minor day to day challenges. Women, children, babies living comfortable lives. I pray the bombing and death instruments stop so there is no more “collateral damage”.
We remembered Barbie Day just a short while ago, so today is for Kenneth Carson as we celebrate Ken Day. Ken was introduced in 1961, 2 years after Barbie. Famous for being Barbie’s boyfriend, without any genetalia, tanned, well muscled and blonde.
Today is the Beginning of Day Light Savings Time for most of North America. For those of you who forgot to set your clocks ahead, you’re now an hour late for church. But you will get to enjoy an extra hour of sunshine tonight.
Food is always an inspiration I like to end with. So enjoy National Coconut Torte Day and pray for those without food in the Ukraine today.
