Porte Ponderings:

Maybe my favorite photos are taken when I’m wandering alone? The one I chose for today’s quote was taken early in the morning in my local conservation area. I’ve never seen a goose nesting in a tree before. She watched me carefully from her lofty perch. I later ran into another person on the trail who said the goose was also there a year ago. So I missed seeing the unique goose last year. How many other people walked past her?

I was lucky enough to go one a hike, by myself in Cuba and see the bats. No one else I was traveling with wanted to hike, let alone see bats. For me it was a unique experience. I’m glad I’m brave enough or stupid enough to hike alone. 😉

Sunday of Family Day Long Weekend in Canada and we’re having another major snowfall today. Probably the most snow we’ve had in a long time. So I’ll just remember our January Cuba Vacation and dream of summer at the trailer.

To Bee or not to Bee……

Bees buzzing, building combs among the rocks on the walls of the trail at Varahicacos Ecological Reserve. Working in a small crevasse. Creating a home of their design with air currents able to reach their combs. Too buzzy to notice people walking by. And luckily in a nature preserve they are left to tend to their business.

Porte Ponderings:

We had hoped that the USA President was going to win a Nobel Peace Prize and establish long lasting peace in Gaza, ending the bombing and genocide.

The cease fire has already been broken and Israel has started bombing what’s left of the strip. Genocide is real.

So the USA President’s latest plan was to evacuate all remaining Palestinians out of the demolition zone and as refugees into neighboring Muslim Countries.

huh? Scratching my head. What did he say?
To remove the Muslims from Gaza?
His Peace Plan is to help the Israelis remove the Muslims from their land?
To make Palestinians refugees? Dreaded immigrants?

Porte Ponderings:

Hiking the trail at Varahicacos Ecological Reserve there are amazing rock formations. Water has washed away the minerals and left rock skeletons. On the path the way is littered with “Dog’s teeth” the sharp remains of the rocks. You really need to wear good hiking shoes to ensure your safety and be very careful not to fall. Large potholes also line the pathway. Some have turned into caves or walls like the one in today’s picture. This huge wall was more than 10 feet high and full of the “spaces” left behind after the minerals were washed away.
