Turn out your lights. Today we celebrate World Migratory Bird Day. Lights confuse the night time fliers looking for landmarks. So turn them off and let the birds see where they’re going.
Happy Heavenly Birthday to my Mom. Gone too soon. Loved always ❤

According to AI: Victory Day, which celebrates the surrender of Nazi Germany that ended World War II, is Russia’s most important secular holiday. While most Western countries celebrate the anniversary on May 8, Russia celebrates it on May 9.
The first weekend in May we were at the trailer. My favorite time of year. The hummingbirds and Orioles have returned. But, I quickly learned that the feeders need to be high enough so the raccoons don’t steal them 😉
Rickie is aging. This year he is 16. He was 5.5 when I got him and I’ve had him for 11 years. Even though he is aging (like we all are) he still often runs about like a puppy. Because he is small people assume he’s young so I always let them know how old he is.
Aging certainly isn’t for sissies.
The Betahistine shortage continues. Now there is none available in my area. So I will be trying a different medication to help with my Meniere’s. So I have one week of testing my blood pressure and waiting to see if it helps with the symptoms.

Tonight we remember the Bethlehem Star guiding the Wise men to the stable where the Baby Jesus was born.
Tomorrow may be the big day for most families, but I have my sons and their families join us tonight. This year instead of a sit down meal we’re having appetizers and finger foods. I was feeling well enough yesterday to bake tarts. Sourdough bread and buns are waiting to go into the oven. Chicken wings and all the wonderful treats prepared by my family. A hectic time with presents only for the children. Two of which are now entering their teenage years. I hope they’ll keep coming to see Grandma and Grandpa on Christmas Eve.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Retiring from one job to receive a pension and doing what you like means you can follow your passions or learn new skills.
It’s been almost 12 years since I retired from my job at Canada Post. The thing I miss most is the people. Many of which I’ve stayed in contact with via Facebook.
I’ve learned photography, painting, baking bread and many other skills. I’ve been able to take care of myself, my husband and my family much better. I’ve been able to travel, spend winters in Florida, and summers at Port Glasgow Trailer Park.
Spending time with my grandchildren has been such a blessing.
