2024 literally started with a bang.
I arrived in Florida for the New Year’s Eve fireworks. This was the worst year yet for noise. On Penny Lane the residents had a huge display. Debris fell on trailer roof tops in Sleep Hollow. The Police were called, but didn’t respond. Then a box of their fireworks caught on fire. Police, fire and ambulance anxious to help broke down the locked gate at Sleep Hollow Park 2 before realizing the emergency was next door. They watched the flames for 45 minutes, took one person by ambulance to hospital, then finally doused the flames. I pray the person is OK. I hate New Year’s Eve in Zephyrhills.
But I love taking pictures of the birds at Zephyr Park. 10 pictures that I posted on iNaturalist were added to the Florida Birds Album. Not bad for my first day out.
I’ve started doing a Daily Tarot Reading for myself. Today was the Eight of Cups. ”I am ready to leave behind anything that hinders my spiritual growth” Unfortunately my Busch Gardens friend isn’t buying a pass this year, so I now need to decide if I should go alone, find a new companion or just skip this year. The Real Music Series starts next Tuesday, so I still have some time to decide.
As 2023 quickly comes to a close I’d like to send you sincere thanks for reading my blogs on my website.
Looking forward to all of the upcoming adventures and challenges as we rapidly leap towards 2024.

July 1st – Canada Day gave me the opportunity to try taking pictures of fireworks. Uncertain if it would work or not.
So, I set-up my Nikon D750 on a tripod, f11, s 1 second, manual focus set to infinity.
My grandson pleaded with me to do a video instead.
I used my phone as a remote with my camera setup to wifi.
He said it was too complicated.
When the fireworks were over I showed him the results and his only comment was “WOW”.
Photographs are painting with light, while video just reproduces what you saw. I’d rather paint with light.
