May 1st, the day Port Glasgow Trailer Park is officially open for the 2025 season. And it’s last season to be managed by the Corporation of the Municipality of West Elgin. We signed “license to occupy” agreements instead of “leases” so we no longer have the right to vote in Municipal Elections. We are required to pay a $1,000 deposit to ensure we vacate our sites prior to the end of October 2025. The Municipality intends to sell (or some other solution) the trailer park. I’m hoping the Municipality decides to lease the trailer park to a group representing the residents and we get to stay.
