I’ve been working with the land for most of my life;

walking it and photographing it.
And I love it to bits.
Holidays and Celebrations:
Porte Musings:
Today is Ash Wednesday. The beginning of Lent on the Christian Calendar. It is also Random Acts of Kindness Day. Perhaps for Lent this year instead of giving something up we should be committing to doing random Acts of Kindness and help others celebrate the good things in the world.
Then there is the question posed by Who Should I Be Day. I’ve found throughout my life so far the answer changes. As a child the answer is a Doctor, a Lawyer, or a Fireman. As you get older it morphs into a Postal Clerk, a Sister, a Wife, a Mother, an Aunt. Then when you retire, if you’re lucky enough perhaps a Grandmother, a Friend, an artist. But the most important thing is to keep working to become your best person. One step at a time and flexible enough to keep walking.
Yesterday was a snow day. We woke up to lots of fluffy snow. The plows were working overtime but still hadn’t gotten all of the main roads cleared. The school buses were canceled and Day Care was closed. So I got to spend the day with my grandchildren and they got to spend the day playing in the snow in Grandma’s backyard. We forgot about Pancake Tuesday and instead had pizza and salad for supper.
