Porte Photos’ Daily Quote: December 7th

Wanton killing of innocent civilians is terrorism,
not a war against terrorism.

Porte Ponderings:

Genocide is genocide.

Killing people because of religion or saying they are all guilty because of location and need to be annihilated is wrong.

Whatever happened to: no more than an eye for an eye?

1,200 people killed and 200 kidnapped does not justify locking borders and shooting the life out of an entire country/area. It seems like they are shooting fish in a barrel to me. People of Gaza have no protection and no way out. Hospitals indiscriminately destroyed. Cities demolished. Men, women and children without a safe refuge. Told to go south to avoid the bombs, then when they get there the bombing starts in the south.

Israel’s campaign has killed more than 16,200 people in Gaza – mostly women and children – and wounded more than 42,000 so far.” December 6, 2023

Israel-Hamas war updates: UN chief invokes rare Article 99 over Gaza war

Most of the Gaza Strip’s 2.3 million people have been made homeless by the war between Israel and Hamas, and the new phase of displacement since a week-long truce ended on Dec. 1 is worsening an already catastrophic humanitarian situation.” https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/gaza-families-flee-again-shrinking-overcrowded-pocket-land-2023-12-05/

Hate crimes in Canada have increased against both Jews and Muslims. Even though these religions in Canada have no direct effect on what’s happening on the other side of the world. Hate spreads too easily and too fast.

This conflict is not new. “The Israeli-Palestinian conflict dates back to the end of the nineteenth century. In 1947, the United Nations adopted Resolution 181, known as the Partition Plan, which sought to divide the British Mandate of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states.”

All religions foster peace and forgiving.
How can all of this happen in the name of religion?
Is your god not my god?
She must be weeping about such hatred and destruction.
