The first day of summer this year is ushered in with a full moon and a heat wave that has already lasted 5 days. At least the temperature was cool enough at the lake to permit the windows to be open last night.

I thought the cannons had stopped firing, but I was wrong. We just couldn’t hear them because of the air conditioning.
