“Miracle Treat Day History
Miracle Treat Day promotes the support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as sponsored by Dairy Queen. This observance is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for children’s health. On this day, participating Dairy Queen locations donate the proceeds from Blizzard® Treat sales to the local Children’s Miracle Network member hospital, allowing these hospitals to provide essential medical care, life-saving research, and educational resources to young patients in need.
The history of Miracle Treat Day dates back to 1984 when the Children’s Miracle Network was established in the United States. The organization has since expanded its reach to Canada, with the first Canadian Miracle Treat Day taking place in 2003. To date, the event has successfully raised over $157 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. In Canada, 12 children’s hospitals are members of this network, each providing expert care and supporting the physical and mental well-being of Canadian children and their families.
On this day, Canadians visit participating Dairy Queen locations to purchase their favourite Blizzard® Treat and share their experiences using the hashtag #MiracleTreatDay on social media.
