All that non-fiction can do is answer questions.
It’s fiction’s business to ask them.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Monday, April 19th, in Ontario students are back from spring break, back to the computers to do their on-line lessons as there will be no in person learning in either public or private schools probable for the remainder of the school year.

In Latin America it is Indigenous Day. A day to remember the indigenous people of Latin America.

When looking up the holidays and celebrations for today I saw that it was Bicycle Day. I thought oh I can relate to that. Then I read further and discovered it was the first day a clinical trial for LSD was done by Albert Hofmann in Switzerland in 1943. The scientist rode his bicycle home with the help of an assistant. The drug of enlightenment in the 60’s that has since lost favor due to the number of people that used it and then jumped off buildings while they were taking their trip.

National Hanging Out Day is a celebration more my style. It’s a day dedicated to hanging out your laundry. Nothing smells as fresh as sheets hung out in the April Sunshine. Here’s a holiday I can support whole heartily.

  1. I think a different day for Bicycle Day should be chosen. And give it a different backstory! Good heavens! Yes, I remember how wonderful my bed sheets smelled when my mom put them on the line to dry outside. I always use the dryer. 😦 And the painting is gorgeous. Beautiful colors! I may try that one. There’s that lovely cat again! Enjoy your day!
