Porte Ponderings:

One year ago my grandson went kayaking for the first time in a pond at Kin Camp Tanner. This year the park has been sold by the Kinsmen to a private person and the name has been changed to Forest Hills. Many upgrades were made and we were priveleged enough to be able to rent the camp for the weekend to celebrate my daughter-in-laws birthday and Canada Day. Wishing the new owner success in his endevours.

If someone’s winning an argument with me,
I throw a funny line at him and run.

~ Bob Crane
American – Actor July 13, 1928 – June 29, 1978

Porte Ponderings:

Bob Crane, probably best remembered as Captain Hogan in Hogan’s Heros, met a tragic death and the murderer still hasn’t been found.

His love of photography was for nude and pornographic material. Ironically he was blugeoned to death in his appartment with a tripod. https://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=123829&page=1

With the long time since his murder and most of the suspects now dead this is one mystery that will probably go unsolved. https://ew.com/tv/2019/08/26/bob-crane-hogans-heroes-unsolved-murder/

Porte Ponderings:

July 1st – Canada Day gave me the opportunity to try taking pictures of fireworks. Uncertain if it would work or not.

So, I set-up my Nikon D750 on a tripod, f11, s 1 second, manual focus set to infinity.

My grandson pleaded with me to do a video instead.

I used my phone as a remote with my camera setup to wifi.

He said it was too complicated.

When the fireworks were over I showed him the results and his only comment was “WOW”.

Photographs are painting with light, while video just reproduces what you saw. I’d rather paint with light.
