“The only thing that will stop you
from fulfilling your dreams
is you”

~ Tom Bradley
38th mayor of Los Angeles
Born on: 29th December 1917

Porte Ponderings:

Character building. Left to fend for itself trees grow out of the base and through the roof. Black and white seems the most suitable for this abandoned building.

As another calendar year is rapidly coming to an end everyone is reflecting on the past year’s events, goals, accomplishments and dream.

Reflection before we set new goals and make new dreams. A clean slate ready for writing. A new journal. A new year.

I’ll be starting out the new year with a trip to Cuba with good friends. Nothing like some sunshine on the beach to finish recuperating from pneumonia. Re-new my tan that has almost disappeared….

The trailer we’ve been renting in Florida was sold last year and is unavailable. Trump will be starting a new 4 year term and has started chaos the moment he was elected. Everyone is jumping and worried about what he might do. The Canadian dollar has taken a nose-dive. And our political scene sucks.

Oh well, work for me when the election is finally called. 2025 is also a census year in Canada, so I might be able to work the Census as well. Good thing, I’ve overspent in 2024 so maybe I can pay off some of my debts 😉

“If you don’t make mistakes,
you don’t make anything”

~ Joseph Conrad
Author and novelist
Born on: 3rd December 1857

Porte Ponderings:

The learning curve is much bigger that I thought it would be for my new Z7II. A simple thing like changing the Picture Quality so I can shoot raw took too much time to find. You can’t do it through the traditional menu. It has to be done using the I button on the back of the camera.

For some reason my favorite editing program, Corel Aftershot Pro, isn’t opening the NEF files from my new camera. So now I get to waste time figuring out why. It had no problems opening NEF files from the D750. But I’m getting a new laptop soon and will need help moving the program to the new PC, so I might wait until I get the new laptop in a few days.
