Spirituality is for people who have already been there”~ Bonnie Raitt

A day to remember Veterans that not only risked their lives for Canada, but were also forced to enfranchise and give up their heritage to become “soldiers”
Although many later regained their “Indigenous Status” they had endured extreme racism, discrimination and hardships. Many didn’t want their status reinstated as they were “Canadians” able to vote and buy alcohol. They were freed from the limitations of the Reservations. Seeking adventure in foreign countries. Distanced from their cousins and family. Their culture disseminated and lost to future generations.
