One of the things I still have of my Grandmother’s is a small metal plate that says: All of our guests bring us happiness, Some when they come, And some when they go. It was probably based on Oscar Wilde’s quote today. You can tell it’s a little bit o’ Irish humour.
Today is Global Cat Day, and I’m certain by no co-incidence it’s also I Love Yarn Day.
Today is also World Food Day. Everything is called something different now. When I was growing up you called people poor and starving, now you say they have food insecurities. No matter how you look at it not having enough food is a major problem in the world whether it be in your neighbourhood or on the other side of the globe. We really should end world hunger. You’d think when we spend billions to send people for joy rides to space we would have found a way to solve world hunger.
I’ve been so blessed to live in an area where the crops are plentiful and one of our major exports are beans and grains. The fields are all being harvested at this time of year and we give thanks for our bountiful supply.
