Words are but pictures of our thoughts.

Holidays and Celebrations:
Porte Musings:
It’s easy for me to celebrate World Photography Day. Camera in hand I’ll go for a walk through the local conservation Area and start snapping. Always something interesting to capture in a moment.
World Humanitarian Day is a harder to celebrate as pictures of thousands of Afghanistan people chasing planes flood our TV screens. The USA and Canada are removing their armed support and the Taliban are taking over major cities. Women in positions of power fear for their lives and those who fought against the Taliban (even as interpreters) are praying for escape. Paperwork slows the exit, and the end of their freedom is near. Whole cities are being bombed to oblivion. And we are left without any way to help those left behind. The refugees that manage to make it to Canada are being cautiously welcomed with low cost apartments.
So, let’s burry our heads in the sand and make sand sculptures as we celebrate National Sand Castle Day.
