Music is moonlight
in the gloomy night of life.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Today is World Down Syndrome Day. A time to pause and recognize all the accomplishments of those with that extra gene. Once thought to be unable to learn or live independently, those myths have now been disproven as people with Down Syndrome are breaking barriers and starring in movie roles or earning a living as models. Or like Bob at our church, just being active members of the community. Thanks for your inspiration and love.

Get lost on International Day of Forests. Just go into the woods and do some Forest Bathing. Breath in the fresh air and listen to the sound of silence deep in the woods. Or plant some trees to start your own forest right in your own backyard.

To Celebrate World Poetry Day tell or write some poetry.

Un petit morceau de papier;
Pousee par le vent;
Voyait le feu avant;
Et elle pensait
Quand le feu me serra consumé
le vent ne me pousserait plus.

Or you could just celebrate National Healthy Fats Day and eat some healthy fats. 😉

Do not wait for extraordinary
circumstances to do good action;
try to use ordinary situations.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Sunday March 21st of 2021 and we’re celebrating World Poetry Day. Read some poetry or recite one of your favorites. You can even celebrate it at the same time that you remember International Day of Forests.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

~ Joyce Kilmer ( see more at: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poems/12744/trees)

Today is also the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. During the past year we’ve seen all types of violence and demonstrations regarding racial issues. If only colour or race didn’t matter…….

We’re also going to celebrate the plus one group today. As we remember and support World Down Syndrome Day. So wear an odd sock and celebrate all the differences in the world. 🙂

For sleep, riches and health to be truly enjoyed, they must be interrupted.

World Poetry Day

For not only sleep, riches and health, but also freedom to be enjoyed, they must be interrupted.

The name of the novel coronavirus has been changed to COVID-19 but it’s effects aren’t lessening.  Tight travel restrictions that have never before been invoked now limit individual freedoms.  Home from Texas (USA) we are now in quarantine or self-isolation.  Luckily we have family and friends who are able to help us.  My lovely daughter-in-law went grocery shopping this morning and dropped of the goods to my door.  She also had my young granddaughter with her and we were able to wave kisses through the open door.  My youngest son went to Canadian Tire to buy potting soil and bird seed for me.  Such luxuries, so I can start my greenhouse up and feed the birds.
