Give a man a fish ~ Maimonides
and you feed him for a day;
teach a man to fish
and you feed him for a lifetime.
Holidays and Celebrations:
Florida is well known for it’s beaches, birds, fish and manatee. Today is Manatee Appreciation Day. So if you’re in Florida or other Manatee sites, take some time to appreciate the beautiful water mammals.
One of my favorite things to do is walk through a park. Celebrate Take a Walk in the Park Day and go for a hike.
I’m uncertain why today is Turkey Neck Soup Day. Maybe it’s time to clean out the freezer and use up those turkey necks you saved for one day. 😉
On this day in 1867 Alaska was bought by the USA from Russia. I wonder if Russia also wants to reclaim it?
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. ~ Maimonides (Spanish – Philosopher / March 30, 1135 – December 12, 1204)
Holidays and Celebrations:
The Tuesday of Holy Week for Christians, Holy Tuesday, when we remember the story of the Widow’s Gift. When she gave only a small amount, but it was all she had, so it was a far bigger sacrifice than the huge amount of gold given by another who had only given a small percentage of what his treasure.
During the Pandemic we’ve all been dreaming of travelling again. The craze is to have a virtual vacation so there’s a day for that: Virtual Vacation Day. Preview places you would like to go with the click of a mouse and see places you dream about. Fly high above the clouds or dive deep below the oceans, wherever you might even be too afraid to go.
If you’re tired of all the screen time, grab a leash and celebrate: Take a Walk in the Park Day. Get outside and enjoy some fresh spring air. Our COVID-19 restrictions have gone back to RED, so the belts have been tightened again as we are in a 3rd wave. But we can still enjoy the park and watch scenes like a flock of geese landing on a local pond, the first sight of skunk cabbage in the marsh or pussy willows in bloom.
I put my heart and my soul into my work,
and have lost my mind in the process.

COVID-19 pandemic continues and grows. Numbers confirmed in the USA are now over 139,000 with the death toll of over 2,400. Some experts are now predicting that between 100,000 and 200,000 Americans will die because of COVID-19.
Canada has fewer cases with only 6,243 confirmed cases caused by COVID-19 and 61 reported deaths. Part of the reason for the lower numbers in Canada is that Canada’s population is less than 10% of the USA.
Prime Minister Trudeau remains in self-isolation even now that his wife is now symptom free. He could still develop the virus 14 days after exposure.
We’re on Day 12 of our quarantine after travel. My step-son is trucking his way back to Ontario from Saskatchewan, but says he is sick. He’ll need to be tested to confirm if it is COVID-19, but that means our quarantine time will also need to be extended because he stopped in to see us on Friday, March 20th before he went to work trucking. That means an extra 2 days of self-isolation for us, not a major hardship because there are very few places to go. Even worse, his lady-friend is a double organ transplant recipient and could be in very serious danger from exposure.
Some of our Canadian friends have decided to shelter in place in Florida and Mexico. Others drove straight home from Florida without stopping. Some are now done their 14 day quarantine after travel, but everyone is still being told to “STAY HOME”.
Virtual tours and travel have been spreading on the internet almost as fast as the virus. Distractions and good thoughts trying to take away from the fear and terror of closed cities and states. So book a Virtual Vacation and relax today.
