Porte Photos’ Daily Quote: October 10, 2022

Love and magic have a great deal in common.
They enrich the soul, delight the heart.
And they both take practice.

Porte Musings:

Nora Roberts is my husband’s favorite author. He has over 100 books to prove it. We went to Ireland just to see some of the places she has written about. So on this Thanksgiving Monday, after the turkey dinner and family celebrating yesterday it seems like a good day to curl up with one of her books and just relax.

Porte Musings:

Saturday and it looks to be a full and interesting day.

I’m starting off with a trip to the Lion’s Club at 7AM to set up a photo booth for the Strathroy-Caradoc 150th Anniversary. I’m so lucky to be part of this monumental anniversary.

After a busy morning, I’m going to spend some quality time with my Granddaughter.

Then for supper I’m meeting with the Canada Post Heritage Club and friends for supper.

The real secret of magic
lies in the performance.

Porte Musings:

Today is my middle son’s birthday. A little bit more serious and sensitive. A hardworking great father and husband. Always finding a new project to work on. This year’s project is a gazebo in his backyard.

Sunsets are always magical and a reason for celebrating. The one in today’s quote was in Port Stanley as the water was calm.

We need society, and we need solitude also,
as we need summer and winter,
day and night, exercise and rest.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Pause to remember World Suicide Prevention Day. Suicide leaves those behind wondering and questioning what could we have done differently to prevent this terrible loss. Often the answer is nothing. So, instead everyday be available to listen to others and offer understanding. Support your local Suicide Prevention call in lines and carry on.

Others are battling for their lives as we remember Stand up to Cancer Day. Looking for cures and new methods of early detection. Fight this terrible disease.

This Second Friday in September is also National Hot Dog Day. So whether you buy one from a street vendor or enjoy one on the BBQ in your own back yard, enjoy a hot dog today.
