Porte Musings:
A sober reminder is that today is International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation. Self explanatory, but unbelievable that this practice is still ongoing behind closed curtains.
An actor as a President of the USA? Yes, we all remember Ronald Reagan Day. From small town Illinois to the big screen (more than 50 films), unable to serve during WW2 he starred in training films; then on to the Governor of California and finally the 40th President of the the USA. An embodiment of the American Dream. After such a wonderful and varied working career he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 83 and lived for another 10 years at home with his devoted wife Nancy.
Today remember to Pay a Compliment. Such a small thing that can mean so much to the recipient. According to https://modernmrsdarcy.com/womanly-skill-how-to-pay-a-compliment/:
- Consider the context
- Be sincere.
- Be specific.
- Focus on essence, not appearance.
- Be generous.
We all wish we could celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day, but under the province wide Lock-down we’ll have to remain content, at home, and take a book off the shelf to read to our children and grandchildren via Skype, Messenger or Zoom.
