I am, indeed, a king,
~ Pietro Aretino (Italian – Poet / April 20, 1492 – October 21, 1556)
because I know how to rule myself.
Holidays and Celebrations:
Porte Musings:
April 20th or as many people know it: 420 Day. 420 was believed to be started by a couple of California students who would meet at 4:20 after school to smoke up. Canadians embraced the holiday as a day to get together, smoke a joint and demonstrate for the legalization of Marijuana. Now that marijuana is legal in Canada, 420 is still the common term for smokers and a reason to get together to have a joint. With the legalization of Marijuana huge fields of cannabis. The smell has become a major issue in many small towns as it permeates everything. Some of the fields though they smell and look the same are actually just hemp and have to THC. Hemp is grown not only for it’s strong fibers, but also for CBD oil and products used for pain/medicinal purposes.
Today is also National Look Alike Day. So dress like your best friend and play Look Alike.
Most importantly, today is also Volunteer Recognition Day. So here’s to the unpaid work force that keeps our churches and communities running smoothly. Without you the world would be a sad place. Schools without PTA’s would lack spirit and playground equipment. Neighborhoods would lack cleanup committees and gardens. That extra spice of love would be lacking. ❤
