we lose the privilege to be free.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Israel is on high security alert as we enter Holy Monday, 6 days before Easter Sunday. Prayers and fasting continues on the 10th day of Ramadan and the 41st day of Lent, approaching the Jewish celebration of Passover.

Hug your pets as we celebrate National Pet Day, unless your pet is a python or a spider.

A very Canadian type of holiday to celebrate National Poutine Day. French Fries with cheese curds covered with hot gravy. Heart attack in a take-out container. Mmmm….. 😉

April 11th was my Father’s Birthday. He was born in St. Joseph’s Hospital during the great flood of London Ontario. A difficult birth using forceps, his mother’s pelvic bone was broken and he suffered lifelong with learning disabilities. But he did learn to read the comics, do word searches, play cards and become a high pressure welder. He was very handsome, stubborn and opinionated. He provided for and raised 4 daughters. He had a good life, cut short by small cell cancer. And I miss him everyday.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Happy Cinco de Marcho. Today it is time to start to get ready for the big drinking holiday of St Patrick’s Day. So, have a toast or two and get ready. A margarita would be good to start, it is after all green. ;

We also celebrate Multiple Personality Day today. So, if you can’t remember things that you’ve been doing, you should see a doctor to see if you have this disorder.

In honour of Canadians, today is National Poutine Day. Be certain to have some of those cheese curds and gravy covered French Fries.
