I believe in the imagination.
What I cannot see is
infinitely more important
than what I can see.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

At least the sun was shining brightly yesterday and there wasn’t any more snow, but it was bitterly cold. The snow on the top of the gazebo started to melt and then re-freeze to form huge icicles hang down. My friends and neighbours in Texas were not only having a cold spell, but their electricity was out state-wide.

February 18th is National Battery Day. It should be called “National Recycle your batteries day” as the day was meant to remind everyone to keep batteries out of landfill sites to help reduce fires and conserve natural resources. Less than 50% of people recycle batteries and I have to admit that I’m one of the 50% that doesn’t. But I do return my car and motorcycle batteries for disposal.

An easier reason to celebrate February 18th is National Drink Wine Day. I’ll be certain to have a glass or two of my dandelion wine and make a toast to celebrate the occasion.

What makes humans different from all the other animals? It’s our opposable thumbs. So, let’s give two thumbs up for Thumb Appreciation Day. Without them we wouldn’t be able to do all the unique things we can do.
