in others the pettiness and malice
that it has never felt.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Celebrating Abilities Day, don’t concentrate on your disabilities, but instead on what you can do. What is your strong?

I’ve only participated in one cookie exchange. Everyone baked 10 dozen of one type of cookies, we got together and each of us got a dozen of each type, we also had snacks and a glass of wine. So today I remember National Cookie Exchange Day.

As we approach Christmas the food just keeps coming. Today is National Date Nut Bread Day.

COVID number are rising as Omicron spreads. Today we are awaiting National announcements regarding travel restrictions and other restrictions. Many of us are suffering COVID fatigue and are so tired of the restrictions that we’ll probably still have our family celebrations.

Holidays and Celebrations:

*It was officially announced yesterday that Ontario will be in lock-down starting on Boxing Day and extending for at least 28 days. The one “gathering” we had scheduled for boxing day will now occur today to ensure that my oldest grandson can maintain some level of normalcy. I understand we need to do this to stop the spread of COVID-19, but at the same time my circle has been small during the last 9 months and the further restrictions will be very difficult. My grandbabies won’t be going to their new pre-school to make new friends and learn new skills. My newest grandson has learning disabilities and needs this interaction to catch-up on verbal and motor skills. How many children have been hurt by loosing so many days of school? My heart is breaking on the second day of Yule, instead of celebrating the end of the long nights.
