What terrified me will terrify others; ~ Mary Shelley
and I need only describe the spectre
which had haunted my midnight pillow.

Holidays and Celebrations:
August 30th, Mary Shelley’s Birthday is a day to remember Frankenstein Day and nightmares. May all your villagers be welcoming instead of waiting outside your door to execute you. Why not get some popcorn and watch an old Frankenstein movie or better still read the book.
Of all the nightmares of the world, on our TV screens are images of Afghan’s wanting to flee Afghanistan as the Taliban are overrunning the country. Today is also a day set aside as International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances. A day to remember all the kidnapped victims and those taken hostage.
Along the same vein of horrors today is also set aside as National Grief Awareness Day. Take time to heal and grieve.
Part of the healing process might include a long walk on one of the many beautiful beaches, sand, wind and waves as you celebrate National Beach Day.
It’s a choice ~Mario Testino (Peruvian – Photographer Born: October 30, 1954)
– there are two different sorts of photographer:
those obsessed with the technicalities
and those obsessed by the subject.
Holidays and Celebrations:
NATIONAL FRANKENSTEIN FRIDAY (USA)
Victor Frankenstein the Doctor who created the infamous monster from human parts was himself a creation. Mary Shelley dove into her dreams to write the most terrific Gothic Novels stories that still are celebrated and remembered.
Great artists are often plagued with great obsessions, madness and evil. Famous for amazing fashion and people photography, Mario Testino became another victim of the Me Too movement when several of his subjects came forward with allegations of sexual harassment and abuse. 18 accusers have come forward since the 2018 allegations first came to the media. None of the allegations have gone to court, but the allegations will always taint Mario Testino’s name and leave a dark mark on fashion photography. It is far easier to just say no to nude photography than to risk loosing everything between the lines of art and pornography.
My dreams were at once more fantastic and agreeable than my writings.

Dr. Frankenstein has become one of the most well known fictional mad scientists the world over. His creation, the monster of Frankenstein, is one of the favorites at Halloween. The type of thing nightmares are made of or should I say incites nightmares? Since we’re still limited in our movements due to COVID-19 restrictions, why not celebrate Frankenstein day either with the book or one of the many films?
