Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Christmas Eve is finally here. This is the day I gather my family for a nice evening meal and we exchange gifts. I never thought I’d see the day where they were all going to have COVID rapid tests before entering my house. Our gathering is small, only 8 adults and 4 children, but with OMICRON variant abounding my children think it’s the responsible thing to do. Be certain to leave a mask our for Santa in case he forgot his.

Today is usually my favorite day to go shopping: Last-Minute Shopper’s Day. But this year I did most of my shopping via Amazon so everything was delivered and wrapped early this year.

A glass of Egg Nog for the Evening meal to celebrate National Egg Nog Day, with our without rum. 😉

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is when I celebrate the season with my children and their growing families. Leaving Christmas morning for my children to celebrate with their families and Boxing Day for them to celebrate with their in-laws.

At the very beginning of Christmas holidays I make supper for them.  This year we’re having ham, meatballs, cheesy potatoes, and creamed corn.

Gifts for the grandchildren of books to read during their holidays are opened.  I’ve prepared a small gift of homemade jam and dish clothes for our children with a universal gift certificate of cash included.  But the best gift of all is the one my husband and I receive of just being together with our family.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas filled with love and memories.
