40 years ago today I gave birth to my first child, a boy and a joy. We named him after his father and I was promised I could always call him Jay. Children grow up and choose their own direction. He prefers his real name over his childhood name, but I refuse to call him anything but Jay. None of his friends even recognize the name for he is no longer a child. But he will always be my son. I wish him the very best for the next 40 years. ❤
