Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

The Tuesday before Ash Wednesday on the Christian Calendar and everyone loves to celebrate “Fat Tuesday”; Mardi Gras; National Pancake Day; Carnival or Shrove Tuesday or Paczki Day. Get out the leftover flour, sugar, or fats and indulge for tomorrow we enter the season of Lent. Do you find something to sacrifice for lent or do penance during the days proceeding Easter? Or do you resolve to do something positive during this Lenten Season? Prayer, gifts for the poor, exercise for the soul or the body? Whatever, join in the Fat Tuesday celebrations today.

Please remember your favorite grouch today and celebrate: Do a Grouch a Favor Day. Even if they tell you they don’t want any favours. ❤

Today we will be entering the Red in London-Middlesex Health Unit. Weddings and Funerals can be held again with limitations. Small businesses can re-open with capacity limits. We’re celebrating by going shopping at Walmart. My husband hasn’t gone shopping since before Christmas so he’s really lookin forward to an outing to pick out the best loaves of bread and look around. I’m so looking forward to seeing my Grandchildren (small indoor gatherings of 5 people will be permitted). They are growing too fast.

Don’t cling to fame. You’re just borrowing it. It’s like money.
You’re going to die, and somebody else is going to get it.

6th Sunday after Epiphany

A tree full of Great-tailed Grackles making all types of noise seem as if they are sirens or ominous portents giving warnings; or perhaps the large blackbirds are part of a Hitchcock Movie.  Mimicking electrical wires, sirens, bells or other electrical equipment, nothing more than nonsense.
