You may all go to Hell, and I will go to Texas.

Discovery Day (YT)

Black Cat Appreciation Day

Thanks to Walt Disney, Davy Crockett was one of my childhood heroes on the Big Screen. I can still hear the theme song: Davy, Davy Crocket King of the wild frontier…….

I finally had a chance to go to Texas this year. Specifically Harlingen in the Rio Grande Valley area where we bought a small trailer, sight unseen and traveled to stay for the beginning of 2020. A place like no other on earth. Where unique animals roam. Where the wind never ceases to blow the tops of the palm trees.

I traveled to Pedro Island and to the End of the Road, where this band of horses and riders were on the beach and captured my imagination. My batteries on my camera had run out so the picture above was taken with my cell phone. I can still hear the wind blowing in from the Gulf. I loved meeting all the people and taking a couple of day trips to Mexico.

Unfortunately COVID-19 Pandemic struck and we were forced to return to Canada in the middle of March. The Canadian-American border remains closed so we sold our little trailer and might never have the opportunity to return.
