People discuss my art and pretend to understand
as if it were necessary to understand,
when it’s simply necessary to love.

Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

I heard one news item that said diabetes has increased by 19% since the pandemic started with the supposition that the increase is due to the lack of activity as we’ve been under orders to stay home. On the rise it’s a major disease with severe consequences when not recognized and treated. World Diabetes Day is a reminder to get your A1C’s checked and keep those numbers in range with diet and exercise. Diabetes is no longer a death sentence. New medications are available for those with Type II Diabetes so discuss your options with your doctor. New devices are available for Type I Diabetics to help reduce the number of puncture wounds from needles. Pods, pumps and sensors to help keep blood sugar levels within range.

Eat a pickle to celebrate National Pickle Day. So many pickles to choose from, dills, sweets, bread and butter, yum yum. And not just limited to processed cucumbers, you can pickle almost any vegetable. Mmmmm…….

Remember to use your seat belt on National Seat Belt Day and everyday. Seat belts save lives. So buckle up and have a belt for the road. 😉
