You can learn little from victory.~ Christy Mathewson
You can learn everything from defeat.

The picture today is one that I took in 2018 at Busch Gardens, a perfect picture to celebrate World Elephant Day. I always loved to stop and watch the elephants as they played. The closest I will ever get to seeing these magnificent creatures as I will probably never be able to travel to their homeland. As animal rights activists continue their mantra to free the animals, future generations in North America will soon not be able to see or admire elephants.
Today is also Miracle Treat Day, in both Canada and the USA, Dairy Queen has an annual fundraiser to support the Children’s Miracle Network. Raising money for Children’s Hospitals and research for cures for diseases still affecting our youngest and limiting them from enjoying their childhood.
And don’t forget about International Youth Day. Those from age 15-25 who are just starting out on their journey to adulthood. Finishing their formal education and trying to establish themselves. Faced with the greatest trials on their road to independence. One of my favorite charities that I donate to, Youth Opportunities Unlimited has a local presence in Strathroy, mentoring youth to help them find their first jobs and find homes. #YouthDay
Well as giraffes say,~ Sid Waddell
you don’t get no leaves

Holidays and Celebrations:
It’ll be easy to celebrate National Lazy Day. It’s raining outside, with lightening and thunder. Rickie has curled up on my lap and is shaking from the sound. He needs to be cuddled. We won’t be sticking our necks out to get leaves this morning.
Giraffes are one my favorite animals at Busch Gardens. Today’s picture was taken in 2018 before we sold our trailer in Florida. I loved my weekly visit it Busch Gardens while we lived in Florida for our winters. The USA Border remains closed to Canadians traveling by land. I wonder if it’ll open in time for the Snowbirds this year.
It’s better to be a lion for a day than a sheep all your life.Elizabeth Kenny Australian – Celebrity (September 20, 1880 – November 30, 1952)

As a result of higher positive cases COVID-19 restrictions have once again been increased in Ontario. Private gatherings can’t be over 25 people outside and 10 people inside. This emergency announcement was made yesterday morning leaving many people scrambling to re-evaluate their response. Our Church decided not to proceed with indoor worship services that were to start today.
