Porte Ponderings:
Whenever possible the government acts to increase its’ own power. In our democratic country, our Provincial Government passed legislation to remove the right to strike of CUPE workers. An injury to one is an injury to all. So CUPE is protesting by not working. Other unions are also joining in to show their support.
The government should have put its energy into meaningful consultation rather than remove rights.
It looks like it will be a long strike. I have my granddaughter at my house while the schools are closed. The schools may be closed for the rest of the month. ;(
