Porte Musings:
Retirement is a strange time of life. You think you’d have all the time in the world to try new things and devote time to your passions or just lie around and do nothing. Like many retirees I look back and wonder how I ever had time to work full time, let alone raise 3 sons. No wonder my house was always a mess. Even in retirement, cleaning the house is one of my least favorite things to do. I’ve dabbled in a lot of things and have found I enjoy them all.
Walking in the mornings with my sister, zumba, going to church, attending Horticulture Society meetings, hiking by myself camera in hand, kayaking, joining CMC (Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers) and riding my motorcycle, swimming, biking, traveling or spending time with friends and family, gardening, painting, knitting…..
After all, if I’m lucky enough to live to be 90 like my grandmother I still have another 30 years to see and do things. If I’m not that lucky, I’ll have enjoyed the time I’ve been blessed with.
So, I really do believe if you’re not enjoying what your doing, change it and find your joy in life. Especially post COVID. Just do it!
