At 50, I began to know who I was.

It was like waking up to myself.

Holidays and Celebrations:
Porte Musings:
Fasting and prayer continues on the 3rd day of Ramadan.
I remember Princess Diana supporting the removal of mines in war torn countries. She travelled to the fields and showed us the hidden dangers. Speaking for the children who were being dismembered by the left over hidden mines. So remember International Mine Awareness Day.
Eat your carrots. Even if it’s in the form of a carrot cake. It’s easy to celebrate International Carrot Day.
I agree with Maya. At 50 you start to learn your true self. I celebrated the year by learning to ride a motorcycle. I enjoyed working as a Project Officer, designing and building new buildings, changing old buildings into useful buildings. Since I’ve retired I’ve become more in touch with my creative side. Walking, kayaking, biking, taking pictures, painting, playing my flute, days of leisure, watching my grandchildren grow. Growing old is a pleasure denied by many. Today I’m going to a baseball game with friends from Sleepy Hollow. I’m planning an adventure of a guided kayak trip. And I’m knitting a blanket for my expected new grandson.
