One of the earliest protests I remember is the “don’t buy California Grapes protest“. Where everyone was encouraged to not buy grapes until the workers were treated more fairly. I didn’t know at the time that César Chávez, a farm worker, was the American Latino behind the peaceful demonstration. Please remember that there are peaceful ways to achieve a goal on César Chávez Day. Like White Pelicans fishing in a pond, when we unite we can feed each other.
As the fiscal year comes to an end for many businesses, it’s time to Back-up your data and celebrate World Back-up Day.
My husband will tell you his favorite vegetable is potatoes. So grab a spud and celebrate National Tater Day. 😉
