Holidays and Celebrations:

Porte Musings:

Remembering Don McLean’s 1971 folk rock song “American Pie,” on the day of the infamous plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, J.P. Richardson (known professionally as the Big Bopper), and Ritchie Valens. We remember The Day the Music Died.

Like that day in 1959, a terrible winter storm is hitting most of North America. Texas is bracing against the snow and ice, hoping they won’t have a major power disruption like a year ago. Meanwhile in Canada it it National Sweater Day. So for all my Canadian family, friends and neighbours, get out your sweaters and keep warm. 😉

One day early we celebrated National Carrot Cake Day at Sleepy Hollow Potluck. The selection is always eclectic at a Potluck. It was so nice to be able to go to a public event. No facemasks required, but we did try to keep our distance. We’re all old people and vaccinated.
