Daily Quote: December 6, 2021

For there is no friend like a sister
in calm or stormy weather;
To cheer one on the tedious way,
to fetch one if one goes astray,
to lift one if one totters down,
to strengthen whilst one stands.

Porte Musings:

Born in the 3rd century, St Nicholas was known for his generosity to the poor. Did you leave your shoes out last night? St Nicholas would leave coins in the shoes of the poor children. He became the inspiration for our modern day Santa Claus. I watched the Santa Chronicles 1 & 2 on the weekend when babysitting my grandsons. According to the Santa Chronicles, St Nicholas and Santa Claus are the same person because you never age at the North Pole. 😉

In keeping with Remembrance to create equality today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. For some women being at home is the least safe place in the world as domestic violence still remains one of the leading causes of death for women. Please learn the signs for women asking for help and call the authorities when you see them.

Although cold soup isn’t my idea of a good lunch, today is National Gazpacho Day, so I might give it a try.
