Today is also World Standards Day. So do you measure up? or how do you measure up?
In Ontario it’s hard to celebrate World Sight Day when the Optometrists are refusing to see anyone that has OHIP coverage. So that means children, people over 65 or diabetics and others who qualify for OHIP coverage for eye exams are all being held ransom by eye doctors, while these “Doctors” refuse to get back to the bargaining table about payment rates. I have no sympathy for any medical group that refuses to provide services to those who need it most. It’s worse than living in a 3rd world country where they don’t have the resources. We have the resources but are being denied the care by the very people who are supposed to be caring for us.
If you can’t get results take it to your Ombudsman as we celebrate Ombuds Day.
