Porte Musings:

Sometimes it’s hard to be happy for the moment, but as Omar Khayyam said, this moment is your life. That’s why my byline is: Turning Moments into Memories. Moments caught in a photograph can last longer than a lifetime.

During this Pandemic I wish I could go to a museum to celebrate International Museum Day. So the good thing or should I say bad thing is most museums now have a virtual tour so you can visit from the comfort of your home. To me it isn’t even close. It’s like watching fishing on Television. Boring…. but in real life you hear the sounds around you, see the sights, feel the light breeze and thrill at a nibble on the line.

As with all other major illnesses there remains a lot of hope for an HIV vaccine. So as research continues we remember HIV Vaccine Day and continue to hope for an effective vaccine for this terrible disease. Identified in 1984 HIV remains a major devastating disease ending in AIDS and death. Progress on a vaccine for HIV has been much slower than first promised. Human trials are showing promise https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2021-02/sri-fct020321.php but none are yet readily available.

So, let’s all eat some chocolate and peanut butter cups to help forget our problems. Thank you to Reeses. It’s very easy to celebrate I love Reese’s Day. One of the first things I bought for my husband when we found out he had colon cancer was a package of 4 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I love them and so does he.
