Daily Quote: May 12, 2021

There was an old man with a beard,
who said: ‘It is just as I feared!
Two owls and a hen,
four larks and a wren
have all built their nests in my beard.

The second Wednesday of May is National Third Shift Workers Day or mid-night shift remembrance. The night owls working this shift are strange birds. When I worked midnight shift at London Mail Processing Plant I never really knew if unique people worked this odd cruel shift or if working this shift may people unique. Many mothers ended up working this shift so they could be with their children during the day. Sleep deprived they made it through their children’s formative years then were unable to work any other shift due to established patterns.

Today is also Odometer Day. We celebrate the instrument that keeps track of our total mileage. Don’t turn it back, keep on traveling ahead and own the miles that you’ve accumulated.
