Porte Musings:

The third Friday of February and as we continue with the heart theme for February this is National Woman’s Heart Day. Early studies about Heart disease was primarily done on men. However, we’ve since learned that women’s heart disease often goes unnoticed because many of the symptoms aren’t as dramatic. More recent research has been devoted to women’s heart disease.

Today is also the first Friday of Lent. So what better way to celebrate than with Friday Fish Fry Day. Skip the dishes and order take-out. A nice order of Fish and Chips is exactly what the soul ordered.

To go along with Fish and Chips you have to have tartar sauce. So you’ll be celebrating National Tartar Sauce Day as well.

I miss going to the Moose Lodge in Zephyrhills, Florida on Friday nights for Fish and Chips. It was always a wonderful spot to gather with friends for a reasonably priced meal and a drink. Then my husband would stay for pool while I would go to the local park to take pictures. Hopefully, travel can continue for the 2021/22 Season. Until then I’ll have to make do taking pictures of icicles on the gazebo, ordering Fish & Chips from The Take-Out and enjoying a pint at home.
