The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it,

Porte Musings:
February 15th, the third Monday in February 2021 has so many reasons to celebrate. In Canada we had to have a break from winter and have a day off, but the Provinces couldn’t decide what to call this February holiday. 6 of the provinces decided to call it Family Day. Then this year, due to COVID-19 we can’t even visit with anyone outside the immediate household. Heritage Day, Islander Day and Louis Riel Day are also celebrated. Then for a bit of good measure we’ll also celebrate National Flag of Canada Day.
Our friends and neighbours to the south celebrate President’s Day or George Washington’s Birthday on the third Monday of February. Everyone gets a holiday. In Florida it should have been called Market Day. I swear everyone who had a holiday went to the market. I must be getting old. I used to love crowds, but I will pass on going to the Market on President’s Day.
Then with Easter fast approaching, today is also Shrove Monday or Merry Monday as Christians prepare for Lent starting on Ash Wednesday. So celebrate today as best you can, during the Pandemic, in preparation for self sacrifice and self discipline.
